Vera-Karin Brazova has background in public policy and in security studies for both of which she holds a MA degree from the Charles University in Prague. During her studies, in the years 2009-2012, she closely cooperated with the Prague mission of the International Organization for Migration after which she moved to work as a researcher at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland.

 

Back in the Czech Republic, Vera-Karin joined the Ministry for Regional Development in 2015 where she currently serves as a senior specialist. It is particularly migration policies and the securitization of migration in the EU which have belonged to her research interests already during the studies.

 

Vera-Karin has published several academic articles and book chapters on the topic (e.g. her research article in English on the illegal employment of foreigners in the Czech Republic was published in the Journal of Identity and Migration Studies).
